  • What Is Telemedicine?

    Telemedicine is the use of telecommunication and information technology to provide clinical health care from a distance.  It helps eliminate distance barriers and can improve access to medical services that would often not be consistently available in distant rural communities.

  • Do I talk to “real doctors, nurse practitioners and therapists”?

    Yes.  Dokita247 members only talk to actual doctors, nurse practitioners and therapists who are board-certified and licensed to practice.  When you request a visit, Dokita247 will connect you with a practitioner licensed in your state/country.

  • Can I get a prescription?

    Yes.  Our physicians will make that determination if a prescription is required based on the patients diagnoses.  Our doctors can diagnose, treat and prescribe medication if medically necessary.  When you request a consultation with a physician, the doctor will ask you where you’d like any prescription to be sent; and will even help you find a pharmacy if you’re traveling.

  • Can Dokita handle my emergency situations?

    Dokita is designed to handle non-emergent medical problems.  You should NOT use it if you are experiencing a medical emergency.  Call an ambulance or go to the nearest emergency room.

  • Is my electronic health record kept private?

    Health records are kept totally private and we employ robust encryption methods to protect your personal information.  You determine who can see the information in your record.

  • Can I use it for my family?

    This varies depending on your specific plan.  Most plan designs allow you to use the Dokita247 service for you, your spouse and your dependents.

  • How much does it cost?

    The Dokita offers low-cost pricing benefit that is based on the participating countries gdp (gross domestic product).  Yet some specialty providers consultations may vary, depending on the provider consultation type and location.

  • Can I be turned down for a pre-existing condition?

    We do not turn patients away because of pre-existing conditions.

  • Can I use the service when i am outside the state or country?

    Yes.  All you need to do is access your account from any location you travel to.

  • Can I get pain medications and others?

    Schedule II drugs are not prescribed by Dokita practitioners.  Neither is Viagra or Cialis.  Chronic medications are to be requested from your primary care physicians.

  • What makes Dokita different from other Telemedicine platforms?
